About Billy
I am a self-employed musician who works in and around the north-east of England where I specialise in teaching piano, guitar, and music theory. I also delve into the world of performance and enjoy playing for weddings, parties, and every other type of function imaginable. I do this as a solo pianist, a duet and with a function band.
After leaving college with a triple distinction grade and two grade eights in jazz piano and popular music theory, I studied at Newcastle University where I achieved a 2:1 degree (in music of course). Afterwards, I completed a Masters Degree in the same department where I focused on studio based composition in popular and electroacoustic music as well as researching music analysis.

I teach in an enthusiastic and precise manner. Lessons are structured around the interest of the student and what they want to get out of learning an instrument. Therefore every student has lessons tailored around their needs. In regards to learning new technical abilities (Such as chords or scales) I find songs that the student enjoys that use them, as to provide a fun and practical lesson.
