About Will
I have been learning the guitar for just over 20 years, so I know a lot about how to overcome the various obstacles which can stand in the way of steady improvement, and about all the different ways that the instrument can feature in your life!
At the moment I play a lot of folk music, and I'm particularly into artists like John Renbourn; Bert Jansch; Anne Briggs; John Martyn; Richard Thompson and Shirley Collins.
I used to play in metal bands, covering stuff by Machine Head; Lamb of God; and older bands like Death or Morbid Angel.
Throughout, I've just been fascinated by all the different ways there are of playing this instrument, so regardless of what you're interested in, reach out and we'll have fun working out the best course of practice together!

Lessons will last 45 minutes £30, taking place online via conference call. Other arrangements may be possible, so please enquire!
We can book a free first lesson to chat about why you want guitar lessons and what you're hoping to get out of them; think about how to set some concrete goals; and about what sort of timeframe they might be achievable in.
I had lessons for years, and I might take them again in the future, but for now, I've got the skills I need to improve my playing on my own. This might be a short-term, or a more long-term goal for you, but I believe in passing on these skills, so that will be a partial focus of your lessons as well!
That might include knowledge of how to read music or tab; to work out positions where they're not given; how to find more stuff in a similar vein to what you like to play; or pointers about how best to practice or what technique to adopt.
