About Adam
I am a self-taught guitarist with over 25 years' experience, including playing in a rock band. Naturally, being self-taught I hold no official grades or qualifications but I do have first-hand experience of poor learning practices and am keen to help others avoid this by providing at least some structure. I also have several years' experience of tutoring in the workplace and take enjoyment from seeing others develop. I am easy-going and believe that we should have fun in everything we do.

Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics or more experienced looking to take the next step, I believe that having fun is the best way to develop and remain interested. For beginners we can learn at a suitable pace for the student. Every great guitarist was a beginner once and we all remember the excitement, confusion and ultimately doubts through our journey. I have a great trick to show anybody who doubts their skill or progress! But once we have nailed a few basic chords there are plenty of songs that we can learn to jam to. We can continue to learn but also make time to enjoy what we have been practising to really feel the progress. For more advanced students, we can work on more specific skills depending on the student’s requirements. Much like with a beginner, we can use these skills to have a bit more fun rather than simply practising the same routines for the whole lesson. Most students will prefer to use their own instrument for comfort and familiarity, however I have a range of guitars that can be used if required. You might not want to spend your money on a guitar before you know it’s for you!
