About Karuna

It is the classical and liturgical language of ancient India, and serves as the matrix for nearly all traditional Indian knowledge systems. Etymologically, saṃskṛtam means “refined” or “well-constructed,” derived from the root √kṛ with the prefix sam, indicating its status as a consciously cultivated language (saṃskārita bhāṣā), in contrast with the vernacular prakṛtas.
