About Vania
My name is Vania, and I am a professional Mandarin tutor from Indonesia. I am currently based in Indonesia and work full-time for a Taiwanese company, while teaching Mandarin as a long-term passion. I lived and studied in China from 2013 to 2020, starting from high school and continuing through university. I graduated from Sun Yat-sen University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and an excellent GPA of 3.7. This long-term immersion gave me a strong academic foundation and a deep understanding of both Mandarin and Chinese culture.
I have over 6 years of teaching experience, mainly teaching complete beginners and students preparing for HSK Levels 1 to 4. I understand how challenging Mandarin can be for non-native learners, so I focus on clear explanations, practical examples, and step-by-step progress. My teaching style is structured, supportive, and practical. I use the latest HSK vocabulary lists, official mock exams, and beginner-friendly materials to help students learn efficiently and gain confidence. My goal is to make Mandarin learning clear, enjoyable, and achievable.
In addition to Mandarin, I am fluent in English and hold an IELTS score of 6.5. I use bilingual teaching materials in both English and Chinese, which helps students understand grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure more easily, especially at the beginner level.

As a tutor, my goal is to make learning Mandarin clear, practical, and achievable, especially for students who feel that Chinese is difficult at the beginning. As an Indonesian Chinese learner myself, I deeply understand the challenges students face, and I use that experience to guide my teaching.
My lessons are student-focused and goal-based. I adjust each class according to your goals, such as HSK exams or daily conversation.
