About Della
I first studied Psychology as an A-Level student. This sparked a passion and love for Psychology which inspired me to study Psychology at University and earned a degree in Psychology. I then realised that not only did I have a passion for Psychology but an equal passion in teaching people about Psychology and helping people understand difficult psychological topics. This caused me to train as a teacher and I now lead Psychology at a school in London.

There are many strategies that I embed to foster educational success. One key component is making the content as relatable and meaningful to the student as possible. I do this by using real life examples to highlight that although the terminology or theories can appear somewhat difficult, they all link to things that we have encountered before as human beings. Studies show that people remember content more when it links to a "bigger picture" so although it may seem trivial this is an important part of teaching.
I believe in applying content to novel situations as much as possible. This is a skill that is often tested rigorously in official exam papers therefore I use this and help students to infer and make conclusions based upon the scenarios.
Lastly, amongst many other things, I believe in using think hard evaluation questions to develop evaluation skills and thought processes in students. This is incredibly important in order to gain top marks.
