I'am a health, social care and research trainer and tour. I support a lot of student at various levels include research students. I aim at working with and improving the learner add quality and grades to their work.
I'm here to help you have a good learning experience and improve your results. I draw my experience from the field, and am able to bring together theory and practice, therefore making you fit for the job market!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Public health and nutrition, sexual health including HIV, Social care, Gender studies, migrant health, research methods, basic computer skills. I also provide support for students and researchers in designing quality studies, data and statistical analysis as well as proposal, bids and grant writing and preparation.
I help students with reports/ dissertations/ theses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the fields of health and social care, health education, public health, nutrition, HIV, gender studies, reproductive health, migrant health, health interventions, and food security and international health. I also do proofreading of essays, reports, dissertations and theses. Therefore rates are different for each piece of work.

- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have PhD in human and biomedical sciences with speciality in HIV and gender issues from the University of Manchester. I have MSc. degree in public health nutrition and MSc. In agricultural/rural economics specializing in food security obtained from University of London and University of Gent Belgium. I have a postgraduate diploma in Food science and international nutrition from The University of Gent, Belgium and B.Ed in health education obtained from Moi University, Kenya. I am, therefore, conversant with the British Education system and other international systems.
- How much do you charge?
The charge varies depending on the subject and level required. I charge no fee for travel within 2 miles of M16. For group lessons I give a discount. Travel costs will be added if there is a need to travel but negotiable. For data analysis charges will be slightly more and I do give discounts for recommending a friend.
- Where do you teach?
I am teaching at my home mostly and sometimes at students' home. I am available online as well. Please contact me for details.
- When are you available?
I am flexible to meet mainly weekends, Fridays in person but will take on any work online daily.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Above 16, graduate, post graduate and professional levels
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
College, undergraduates, postgraduates and adult education.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Mostly I prepare slides of lectures and give instructions on phone, Skype or msn whatever is possible. Plan to do webinars in near future. I will need the information in at least 3 days in advance and for data analysis at least a week. For data analysis, I analyse data myself and give instructions to students online to repeat the analysis themselves for learning. I send the output to recheck. I mostly take the questions first by email to reduce the online teaching time and cost. I will also need at least two weeks for the proposal.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Good results mirror the efforts invested in learning and I'm here to help you have a good learning experience and improve your results. I bring the best out of the student. Don't feel shy in asking many questions from your tutor until you understand.
I have been teaching for over 15 years and provide face to face and online lessons. Over the years I have taught different candidate classes as a subject teacher, assistant teacher, a mentor, a superior and a trainer. I have supported pupils from Year 1 to PhD.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have over 10 years' experience working with BHA a charity equality in health and social care, as a Manager (Kenyan teachers service commission) as a health and nutrition tutor, Manchester University as research administrator and welfare tutor, Naz London as consultant trainer, Mildmay International as a consultant trainer (where I taught research methods, training health workers and managers) and I'm currently with Merlin, an international organization as a training manager responsible for DRC and Pakistan. I have helped many students from Year 11 to university level prepare for qualifications. I help in research design, DATA Analysis (with SPSS) for PhD and masters level studies, and other qualitative data analysis, and interpretation of results. I have helped both students and professionals with Basic computer skills (e.g., word processing, excel and PPT), edited work and helped many students design good study proposals.
