A typical lesson begins with a review of previously learned Hebrew letters, words, or prayers, followed by new reading practice. We then work on comprehension and Torah or Haftarah portion preparation, using techniques such as breaking passages into manageable sections, practicing chanting rhythms, and reinforcing vocabulary.
