About Alyss
I have been a student. Did a GCSE and got an A* in Music and A levels. I have played gigs in and around Leeds and Wakefield. I have also been a full time carer for people with learning disabilities and did some work in a school setting with children with behavioural needs.

I will approach my classes with some basic music theory. After they have understood and have been tested, I will teach how to read and write music for the relevant instrument (guitar). After a few lessons, we will turn to a practical lesson and I will teach some basic chords (depending on experience) and strumming patterns. Once the student is confident with chords and the basic music theory, i will develop their knowledge further. After a while, I will ask their song preferences. I will print out the music they individually like and put their knowledge and practical skills to the test. If the student isnt confident singing, I will sing until they feel comfortable. I will then begin to use Grades and guide the student to achieving certain criteria to earn the grades. Some lessons will be intense for actually learning but there will be a few that are chilled and practical where we can jam for a bit as I am quite a laidback person.
