I met Maria at an event organised by the Islamic Society of UoM. She was talking about her PT job as an Arabic tutor which caught my attention as I always wanted to develop my reading and speaking skills in Arabic. We would meet in cafes, the university common study areas, or on Zoom sometimes. I can say Maria not only helped me improve my Arabic but also made me love the language. She also would teach me some Algerian Darija from time to time which I really enjoyed

What I liked most about Maria's approach to teaching Arabic is how she takes her time to understand what works best with her student. We spent about 2 hours ( for free) just chatting about my level and what I need ...etc She is, without doubt, a professional tutor despite her age. Thank you, Maria!
