About Sam
I am a first-year student studying Computer Science in Trinity. I love playing hockey and am part of loads of societies in my college such as the chess club, badminton club and the esports society. During the leaving cert I really enjoyed giving my classmates help in class, it felt really nice helping others improve their self-confidence and see their grades improve. I also taught some junior cert students who were very fun to teach as they were learning even faster than the leaving cert class! Teaching is a really fun hobby I discovered two years ago and I would love to continue teaching this year too.

Building confidence is my number one priority. I believe wholeheartedly that being confident leads to better grades and even an enjoyment of the subject! I completely understand that some subjects can be really really boring or frustrating but my aim is to not only help them to improve but also to build confidence and enjoyment which I have seen in many of my friends and students who I have previously tutored. One of the most difficult parts of Math is the mental block in a student's mind when they think they can’t do a question. From hearing many of my classmates and friends I know that people can jump one, two or even three grades up just by building confidence and trust in themselves. I know they can do it, I just have to show them what I already know!
