About Elan
Hello, my name is Elan, I'm 30 and I am a professional musician and piano tutor. I've played and taught in France for the past 10 years, graduated from Troyes's conservatory Marcel Landowsky at 22 ( And before that clasically trained as a youth), but by that time I was already pretty active in my community, just to say you don't need a shiny piece of paper to start getting serious! I started playing personally at age 7, never stopped from there never will :). Patience, practice and passion, always seek to challenge yourself and to build your skills as much with your fingers than with your ears. My first and most important task as a tutor is to transmit the tools needed for the Student to build his independence so he can go beyond his initial project. If you didn't have any to start with, that's cool as well! I've got tons of music to get you started, short tunes or some method maybe for the more academic, be sure to have at least a notebook with paper music of course, and we can start having fun ;) Looking forward to it.

As mentioned before, I've given over the last 10 years piano lessons (One on one but also collective Workshops, Sightreading courses, Eartraining Courses, Musical theory courses, to name a few..) in the private sector but also in public schools punctually. Discipline, consistency, being curious of course and patient as well paves the way.. every student is different with his own background therefore I am quite flexible on the approach but the more studious the better in my opinion.. ;) , objectives will differ of course but as skills grow digitally and sonically, the need for grounded musical skills will as well (sight reading, ear training, understanding of the musical symbols so on so forth). I typically teach 30 mn or 1 hour but lessons can go up to 2 hours for people more demanding (more might be a bit exhausting and unproductive). Theory must serve the Practice, it's important to know the name of your tools and how to use them so to speak! All Levels (no age requirements) are accepted from total beginners to amateurs or even professionals looking to hone their skills (in the department of Harmony and arrangement especially, Jazz being my Major.) I had over 60 students a week in France, Troyes where I used to teach, several residencies and bands over the years (Piano Bar and different ensembles from duo to Big band ensemble), I'm now located in Bedford seeking passionate students to share the journey :). looking forward to it.

After the 20Km Radius that I have set as my " teaching grid "( I'm located in Bedford), Or certain areas ( Milton Keynes for example ) I may be able to still make myself availabe to you in exchange of an extra rate dependant on travel cost ( I humbly use puplic transportation u-u ) Everything more or less within this perimeter is the fixed rate of course.
