About Louisa
My name is Louisa, and I am a year 12 sixth form student studying English Literature, Psychology and Sociology for my A-levels. In the summer of 2025, I completed my GCSE examination and all of my results ranged from a grade 9 (an A*) to a grade 6 (a B). I received a high grade 8 in my GCSE English Literature. In year 11, I was tutoring a classmate in English Literature, and as a result her GCSE grade was just under two grades higher than she was predicted. This reinforces the level of help I provide for English Literature GCSE students.

I can offer 1 hour sessions once a week in person enabling a strengthened understanding of certain aspects of the GCSE course. Please note: A Christmas Carol, Lord of the Flies and Romeo and Juliet are the texts I am most confident in tutoring for English Literature. We can also use this time to focus on any specific aspects of the course or exam that you want to improve (such as how to construct a great thesis statement or how a certain motif is explored throughout a text.) I am very knowledgeable in what examiners are looking for in GCSE essays. During our sessions, I will happily go over anything you have previously learned in order to deepen your understanding of it. I will be helping you to construct detailed essays, by revising the key concepts and techniques used in certain texts as well as how to link other ideologies or concepts displayed in the text to your thesis statement in your essays.
