I base my classes on your needs. You might, for example, have been asked by your boss to attend a networking event and speak about your product or service, and need help in designing an effective presentation. I can help you write the content, and will work with you to develop the delivery style that best suits your personality. Or you might have to give a best man/woman's speech at a wedding. I've done a few of those, and heard many more; together, we can work up something that will amaze your friends and make the day extra special for the bride and groom. Or you might be going for a job interview, and need help in answering the sort of questions that you know will crop up. I have wide experience in all those areas, as well as many others. Whatever you need, I will give you the tools you need to succeed, and the self-confidence to do so.
I initially trained as a professional singer, but then joined the Army, rising to the rank of Brigadier. I then ran a charity in Cardiff until I retired in 2019. Today, I have an important, voluntary role in the local area which typically involves speaking in public 3 or 4 times a week. All these life experiences have taught me to overcome my natural shyness; so today, I have a wealth of experience in writing and delivering speeches and presentations of all sorts.
You can come to me, or I can come to you - I live in South Wales, but I'm happy to travel anywhere in the UK. I don't like remote training (eg by Skype), as I find it hard to establish the personal relationship that this subject requires. If I travel to you, I will expect you to cover my travel costs.

Robert has helped me with speaking for many years. When we had our first meeting, I really struggled with getting my point across fluently and he gave me the ability to speak in public for work as well as for day-to-day life. I have recently started teaching English as a foreign language and Robert was the tutor who gave me the ability to speak in front of a class.
Very passionate and dedicated tutor. Learned some invaluable tips and tricks for boosting confidence and presence in public speaking. 10/10!
Being Roberts sister, I have known him all my life. He is articulate, funny, intelligent, totally trustworthy, sympathetic and has a great way with people. Through his work he has had a lifetime of experience of public speaking to many different audiences. I would highly recommend him as a tutor for anything but particularly public speaking.
I have known Robert for over 45 years and have heard him speaking publicly and at private functions many times. Always articulate, amusing, erudite and to the point, any candidate should find his tutelage and guidance well worthwhile.
Over a period of many years, I have watched Robert command many public speaking moments.
To learn from him would teach you how to inject the right balance of fact, timing and structure, interjected with an appropriate but essential amount of humour.
To keep an audience gripped and interested is an art, and Robert would instil in you the confidence to deliver your message at the highest level.
I have known Robert for over 50 years, and have no hesitation in recommending him as a friend and totally trustworthy colleague. His public speaking - formal or informal, prepared or off the cuff - is always witty, to the point, and well-informed. I am quite sure he will be a hugely entertaining and interesting tutor.
Robert is an awesome teacher with many years experience in public speaking. I’ve heard him talk many times and always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He will give you confidence and teach you the skills to connect with your audience in an entertaining and enjoyable fashion. You will never regret having public speaking lessons from Robert.
Having worked with and known Robert for a number of years I can thoroughly recommend him as a personal tutor for public speaking. He delivers with professionalism and enthusiasm and is inspiring to a wide range of audiences. He has the key attribute of humility and humour and is very aware of the need to tailor presentations to the requirements of particular groups. He is an ideal tutor for those who need more confidence in this key area of professional and personal development.
Having known Robert for a number of years both professionally and personally and as someone who works in the performing arts, I cannot recommend him highly enough. Totally loyal, committed, enthusiastic, urbane, witty, a loving and wonderful husband and father. Being tutored by Robert would be a rewarding and enriching experience.
