About Aletha
I am an Australian, semi-retired, who is passionate about written expression and helping students express their views cogently and powerfully. I enjoy teaching as it also expands my world views and with every student I help, I learn something new, making this work very intellectually rewarding. In my experience, students tend to struggle with essay writing in particular but can benefit from seeing and learning practical methods for breaking down large tasks into simpler, smaller ones, making the process of writing a larger essay less daunting. My primary mode of instruction is written - I provide written feedback on your own written work, but I also explain verbally how to improve upon your own work.

Face-to-face lessons are structured in 60 minute blocks. I encourage and set tasks for students to complete between lessons, and I review written work. I am available to help every step of the way in completing written assessment from essay topic creation or understanding through to completing your work by checking that you have correctly formatted and referenced your paper. Please note that the work is always your own, but you will benefit from approximately 30 years of tuition experience with a focus on written assessment.
