I aim to use the direct material shown to the student in class to add another dimension of teaching to the student, focusing on key concepts and memory retention exercises. I aim to explain each step of answering an exam question with broadly applicable techniques.
A good foundation of understanding for all new concepts, whether at lower education level or higher education, is essential for the development of further knowledge and application of these concepts for problems and tasks.
I am a recent graduate of Chemistry, specialising in Medicinal Chemistry. I have a deep understanding of a wide range of disciplines within chemistry, however I have extended knowledge relating to organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and biochemistry. I have two years practical experience working in organic research laboratories.
Specialising in medicinal chemistry, I have completed a large variety of organic and biological chemistry modules, in addition to many core modules from other fields within chemistry. I have also participated in problem-solving workshops, developing my application skills of previous knowledge to unseen material. The tendency for educational assessments to now mostly consist of this style of unseen application tasks makes my method of teaching relevant to modern standards of testing.
My main focus is to ensure the student achieves at least the grade they require for the next stage of their education. I will dissect the information and answer any of the students problems with understanding in order for the student to develop hopefully help them with independent studying. Retention of key aspects of concepts in chemistry is also essential for application problems as well as simple 'memorisation' tasks. This will be an important aspect of my lessons also.

My work experience relates to organic synthesis and organometallic catalysis laboratory work. I completed two undergraduate projects with academic research groups within the university. The projects entailed in-depth background research into previous work in the related area; formulation of new synthetic mechanisms for compound production; analysis and testing of new compounds and understanding and analysing acquired data with reference to previous work done in the field.
