About Patrick
I am an organic chemist who holds a PhD in Chemistry from Bristol University. I have taught chemistry at Bristol University to 1st, 2nd, 3rd year undergraduate students, as well as masters students students. I have taught chemistry for 6 years in total, although I have a total of 12 years teaching experience since I taught music beforehand. My practical experience in the field of chemistry is strong, I have worked in a laboratory whilst simultaneously supervising undergraduate students.

I am able to teach chemistry from GCSE level up to degree level. No two students are identical, so I place emphasis on a flexible, adaptive teaching style that caters to the demands of the individual student. I like to teach in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. My methodology revolves around developing a strong basic foundation in science and analysis, and developing interest in the field. By giving interesting (and fun, of course) examples of how chemistry is applied, I try to generate intrigue in the area: it's always easier to learn a field that is appealing!
