About Yolande
Professional, patient and friendly tutor. I am a fully qualified teacher who taught locally in primary education for 21 years before starting to home tutor primary and Key Stage 3 children in 2015. Over my career, I have successfully taught children with a wide range of abilities, including children learning English as an additional language and pupils with special educational needs. Parents and pupils consistently testify to my professional, patient and friendly approach, with pupils enjoying their lessons and quickly seeing the difference which their time with me makes.

Building good relationships as a foundation to effective teaching is very important to me. During the first lesson, I will talk with you and your child and start some informal assessment after which I will personalise each tuition session according to his/her needs. I aim to make each session engaging, enjoyable and rewarding, always tailored specifically to your child's needs. As far as possible, I will channel learning through their personal interests as well as using games, practical resources and visual aids, amongst other resources. Plenty of encouragement and praise will be given to recognise their efforts and to help motivate them further. If you would like more information or have any queries, I would be pleased to hear from you. 45 minute and 1 hour lessons available - rates vary accordingly. DBS certificate available for you to see.

Perfect! Our son really enjoyed the session which was well put together and very engaging for a Year 2 child. Excellent!
