About Charlotte
Hi! I'm Charlotte and I'm a historian living in Essex. I have a degree in history and a masters in naval history and am currently working in the heritage & museums sector.
I want to tutor because I love my subject. Too often I hear people say history is boring/pointless/don't understand it. I want to help students access the past, understand it and appreciate it and feel confident studying history.
When I'm not working or tutoring, I spend time with my dogs, take photos and listen to Bruce Springsteen.

I believe that history is an integral part of education. It is also fascinating and fun (and not scary & boring!)
In my lessons, I aim to make history accessible, engaging and relevant. I will use primary and secondary source material - and will help you understand and use both.
I have a breadth of knowledge from the Tudors to the First World War; from the history of medicine to the slave trade. I can work with you to teach the subjects you need. I will also be able to help teach historical writing and research skills.
