About Uma
My name is Uma and I am an A Level student based in Surrey. I achieved a Grade 9 in IGCSE History and am currently studying A Levels in History, French and Politics in which I am predicted As and A*s. I have worked in tutoring children and teens before at a Kumon Centre, helping me to understand how to work with young people in order to help them achieve success in their academic subjects. My lessons are planned in advance and organised to focus on writing style, understanding knowledge of key historical events and applying this knowledge to the questions. I work with students to understand their strengths and areas that they need to work on, in order to achieve top grades at IGCSE. From my experience in tutoring teens, I understand that school can be intense and so I work at the pace that is best for the student and will ensure that they make the most of tutoring sessions, which should accompany lessons at school.
