About Sam
My name is Sam Eaton (he/they), and I'm looking for new students in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan! I have diverse teaching experience, including World (Global) History, A.P. U.S. History, Economics, Government, Ethnic Studies, A.P. Seminar, and English Language Arts. I hold a bachelor's degree in history and American Studies with a minor in music from the University of California at Davis, as well as a Single Subject Social Science Credential with an English Learner Authorization and a master's degree in education from the University of California at Santa Cruz. -My lessons typically focus on one or two skills (e.g. thesis writing), developed through interaction with content (e.g. the Civil War). You learn two things at once!
-I use innovative and research-supported techniques, with very little time wasted. Everything is catered to your education: challenging without being too difficult, approachable without being too easy. I promote GROWTH in all skills.
-I have years of experience teaching and tutoring middle and high school, as well as diverse subjects. I've taught 6th grade reading to 12th grade economics and everything in between!
