About Catherine
I am a History postgraduate (MA) from the University of Bristol, looking to provide one-on-one lessons and coaching. Online or in Herefordshire, I offer tuition primarily in humanities subjects: English Literature, History, Religious Studies, Politics, Classical Civilisation. I have experience as a sub-editor so I can offer extensive coaching in spelling, punctuation and grammar - which can make all the difference in the exam hall. I can also offer help with mathematics up to GCSE level. As my background is in the humanities, humanities subjects are where I can offer the extensive knowledge that boosts grades beyond the basics of the syllabus.

Focusing on the particular areas in which the pupil needs guidance, I take an informal but thorough approach, with quick assignments to refresh memory, based entirely on what the lesson has taught. I pay particular attention to exam skills and what markers are looking for, but I can also answer questions about content.
