About Samuel
Hi, my name is Sam. History has always been by far my favourite subject. I think that it has an irrepressible ability to captivate that no other subject can match. On a more profound level, I like to think about how historical events have impacted our world today, and how we should interpret the past. I took history through to postgraduate level, and have a bachelor's degree from Sheffield University and a master's from Oxford University. I have read widely and have developed excellent analytical and writing skills. I have a very good understanding from personal experience of how to write successful answers according to the GCSE/A level curriculum. I hope to make history engaging and challenging, and am confident that my experience will be of great help.

I like to create an engaging yet challenging learning environment. It is important that the student is comfortable and familiar with a successful plan for essay-writing, and I can draw on my own experience to provide useful writing techniques. I also hope to aid them in thinking about history on a deeper, more intellectual level. Nevertheless, I bring an enthusiasm for the subject and like to encourage a sense of history being exciting and dramatic. A typical lesson would last 50 minutes/an hour. I do not have a great deal of experience tutoring, but have helped out my younger siblings and know what it takes to attain high marks. My lessons are for GCSE and A level students.
