About Pádraic
Qualified teacher with 7 years’ experience helping students achieve strong academic progress in History, Politics, and KS3 English, Maths, and Science. I specialise in GCSE and A-Level exam preparation, with a particular focus on improving exam technique, essay structure, and subject confidence.
I am a graduate of the University of St Andrews and have taught in both independent and state school settings, giving me a broad understanding of different learning environments and student needs. I have extensive experience working across all major UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR), which allows me to tailor lessons precisely to exam requirements and mark schemes.
My teaching approach is structured, supportive, and results-focused. In essay-based subjects such as History and Politics, I help students develop clear arguments, strong analysis, and high-level writing skills. For KS3 English, Maths, and Science, I focus on strengthening core foundations, building confidence, and ensuring long-term understanding rather than short-term memorisation.
I work with a wide range of students, from those who need help catching up and building confidence, to high-achievers aiming for top grades and exam excellence. Every lesson is adapted to the individual, with a focus on clear progress and measurable improvement.

I can offer help at four different key stages: KS3, KS4, KS5 and Undergraduate level.
KS3 - help with second order concepts (e.g. causation/significance) and analysis in History through an exciting combination of reading and writing.
KS4 - targeted tutoring towards exam success, from as early as Year 9 all the way through to Year 11. I help students gain the skills required to answer all exam question types thoroughly, as well as helpful revision skills.
KS5 - targeted tutoring towards exam success. I offer a comprehensive service which targets the complex issues in the History & Politics curricula as well as detailed marking and feedback on essay writing.
Undergrad - comprehensive essay reading and feedback service on most topics.
