About Awena
Hi! I'm Awena, I'm 21 years old, and I'm currently a Masters student studying History at the University of St Andrews. In the summer of 2021 I gained a Class I BA degree in History with a minor in Spanish from Lancaster University.
I offer private tuition in Spanish to people of all ages, whether it be revision sessions in the lead up to exams, targeting areas of the curriculum, or simply advancing your Spanish abilities, in comprehension, expression and knowledge of the language.
I love Spanish as a language, and I do believe that language learning can be a rewarding and enjoyable process, so I always aim to keep my lessons as adaptive, inspiring and creative as possible!

¡Hola! I'm Awena, and I gained experience in teaching Spanish during my A level years, where I tutored GCSE students in preparation for their exams, particularly their oral assessments. I also taught English as a foreign language to Tibetan refugees on a school expedition to India.
Lessons are 100% adapted to my individual students, because everyone learns in different ways - for example, I know that I am very much a visual learner. Your lessons are designed for you, based on an initial consultation on which areas you really want to target and improve on, and also working with you to figure out which styles of learning best suit you.
While my lessons are structured, they will often have a relaxed and informal feel to them. From my own experience, I believe a very important aspect of improving a second language is to build confidence in your own ability, which is something I really aim to foster within my students! From my own (not too long ago!) experience as a school student, I understand how to break down and tackle curriculum and exam technique. Whether you're looking to achieve a higher grade, or practice and improve in specific skill sets, I am here to help you achieve your language goals.
