About Zoe
I’m happy to help students of any age up to A-levels with history, or any more general humanities. This includes understanding the curriculum content, helping with revision, or helping with exam technique. I am a second year history student currently working on my degree. I achieved two A*s at a level - one being in history. I have a background of working with younger students through volunteer work and one to one tutoring sessions with a focus on reading skills.

My approach is to make sure students have a real understanding of the topic before moving on the the memorising aspect of learning. I believe that if a student fully understands a topic it is then easier for them to use this knowledge in an exam setting. In terms of revision I encourage use of the reduction method wherein students learn and rewrite the information making each copy more brief. The goal is to have one or two flashcards per topic which can prompt memories. Finally I place an emphasis on visual learning encouraging the use of colour coding and pictures alongside the traditional written learning format.
