My approach to teaching starts with a core text, or primary source. The student will read or engage with this, and then we discuss and analyse the key points of understanding in it together. From there, linking it to wider themes and questions, whether that is orientated towards an exam or alternative learning goals.
I will always emphasise a two way approach to teaching, where the student is encouraged to develop their own opinions on the subject.
I am a history student who recently graduated from the university of Aberdeen with a first class undergrad degree. I have a keen interest in politics, sociology, history and ecology and I spend a lot of time researching and writing about these subjects. I have experience taking friends and family through qualifications at a GCSE and AS standard.
