About Lynne
I am a Canadian living and working at a secondary school in Southampton. I have been teaching History for 8+ years, including GCSE and A-Level. I am passionate about my subject and I instill in my students the enthusiasm and determination to not only achieve well in their GCSE but also to be life long learners of History. I have taught students at A-level who have gone on to study history at University, and have inspired many GCSE leavers to study History at A-level. My main skills are helping students break down the more complex aspects of the course, developing exam writing techniques and building students confidence in their analytical and evaluative skills.

I teach GCSE history in a secondary school and work with a wide range of students who love history and want to be given the best chance at achieving well in their History GCSE's.
I work hard to ensure my lessons promote curiosity and deep thinking and give a lot of space for students to develop their thoughts and ideas on the topics that I teach.
My teaching methods include clear topic overviews, modelling of key thinking skills (analysis, evaluation, judgement, comparison), lots of practice and feedback and linking to modern day events and examples.
