About Janice
As a native of China, I have a deep understanding and appreciation for the language and culture. I hold a Bachelor's degree in economics and a PhD in marketing and business management. I also work in business industry for 10 years which have given me a strong foundation of academic theory.
In addition, I have experience as a tutor, specifically in teaching English-speaking businessmen how to communicate effectively in Chinese for business purposes. This experience has honed my ability to tailor my teaching to the needs of my students and to provide practical and effective language instruction.

Doing business in China or with Chinese people can be vastly different from the Western world. To prepare for this, I would like to work with you to create a plan that includes learning practical business Chinese and understanding Chinese business culture.
To start, we can use a book that focuses on practical Chinese for business as the foundation for language learning. In addition, each lesson can also incorporate 1-2 topics related to Chinese business culture to help build a deeper understanding of the nuances involved.
Some important aspects of Chinese business culture include building relationships and connections, as well as understanding the formalities of Chinese business etiquette. To integrate these cultural topics into our learning plan, we can set aside dedicated time to study and practice them.
With the right resources and study plan, we can work towards developing the language and cultural competencies necessary for successful business dealings in China or with Chinese partners.
