About Shirley
"The soft resonance of a correctly placed vowel feels like a physical release that signals we are finally connecting with the music. My lessons prioritise the delicate balance of vibrato control and rhythm as we move through your chosen pieces. Because I have 13 years of experience teaching, I know how to adapt my approach to suit the unique needs of working professionals and absolute beginners.
Every month, we will review performance recordings together to track your progress and refine your stylistic choices. I make sure that my students feel comfortable using belting techniques without risking their long term vocal health. My degree from Trinity Laban informs how I help you shape your sound through intentional microphone technique and phrasing.
I strive to make each session a supportive space where you can explore the nuances of your own unique instrument. It is truly enjoyable to hear you find your authentic voice through these exercises."

"Technical breathing control and vocal health and care are the pillars of the work I do with singers of all levels. Working with intermediate learners and teens often involves navigating the transition between chest and head voice. Performance confidence is something I build through consistent, patient guidance over 13 years of experience. My MMus Vocal Studies background ensures that every technical adjustment is grounded in physiological understanding.
