About Charlotte
I have previously worked as a volunteer tutor for Action Tutoring whilst a student at Liverpool. My students were all working below a grade 5 GCSE before I began tutoring them, as the aim of Action Tutoring is to bring the students up to a pass grade. I received highly positive feedback from my students and I believe that after taking a mock exam after only five sessions with one particular student, her English results had improved by two grades. All of my students had improved in their English written skills. Most impressively, one student in particular spoke English as her second language so she struggled with spelling and sentence structures. By the end of 10 sessions, she thanked me because her confidence and understanding of the English language had greatly improved.

I am a graduate of the University of Liverpool, I studied BA(hons) English for 3 years and obtained a 2:1 classification for my degree. I am passionate about all aspects of English ranging from poetry, Shakespeare to modern American fiction. I am willing to teach in ways and methods which suit you. I am flexible with my teaching techniques, using a variety of mind maps, diagrams, annotated texts and interactive games/activities to keep the pupil engaged. Each pupil has individual needs which I will pick up on in the first session and build following sessions around their interests and strengths. I believe students will benefit from my lessons in areas such as; spelling, sentence structure, essay writing, using antonyms and synonyms, identifying linguistic features and what effect they have within the text, and many more.
