About Stephen
I have been an ESL teacher for well over 20 years. I have taught in Japan, South Korea, China, Britain, Germany, and the US. I was a university lecturer in Japan and South Korea for 15 years, and a teacher at international high schools in China for 5 years. I was a full-time IELTS Examiner in Beijing, China for 2.5 years, flying to 50 different cities in China to conduct the speaking interview test. I have assessed more than 6000 candidates for speaking, and graded more than 10,000 Task 1 & Task 2 scripts.

I have a Master's degree in Linguistics, and an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Language. I also have a CELTA certificate. I prefer to teach IELTS writing, although I have a lot of experience teaching Reading, Listening, and Speaking also. In China, I prepared students to sit the Australian University Entrance Examination.

Perfect! Steve is well prepared for the first lesson. My niece really enjoyed her classes. Highly recommended.
Perfect! I have been taking the lessons with him for about three weeks. After checking my level, he knew my weakest parts and taught me, which greatly helped me. He knows Asian students very well and has a lot of experience. It's worth taking lessons with him.
