I have always taken a tailored approach to teaching. The first lesson is usually spent determining your level of knowledge, exam technique and engagement in teaching. I will then make a tailored plan to target any weaknesses in the syllabus or in exam technique. I have a bubbly personality and so I try to make lessons interactive and interesting. In the past I have used games, songs, videos to help my students with their learning.
Generally, I set out a timeline of topics to cover each week. At each lesson I focus on teaching/explaining one topic as well as revising previous relevant topics. Repetition of important topics also means you'll be able to recall information with ease.
Some students find homework beneficial, others find that it is an additional stress to their studies and so I usually discuss this with the student in the first lesson.
Hi, my name is Bomee and I'm a final year medical student at Imperial College London with a passion for teaching. I attended St Paul's Girls' School and achieved 3A*s in A level Chemistry, Maths and Biology and A in AS Physics, as well as 10A*s at GCSE.
In my time at Imperial College I have consistently achieved merits and distinctions in my university exams (equivalent to 1:1). Most recently, I completed my BSc in Reproductive and Developmental Science, achieving a 1:1.
I have over 7 years of experience in teaching GCSE Science and A level Chemistry. My previous students have improved from grades E to A. More importantly, they felt much more confident in tackling their exams. I always ensure a tailored approach to lessons - allowing the student to take control of their learning as much as possible.
Entry into medical school is getting tougher and tougher. I am also happy to review personal statements, practice interview skills and go through UCAS applications to medical school to ensure the best chance of success. I have previously worked with university societies offering very short courses to potential medical school applicants and so have plenty of experience in recognising what universities look for in applications.
I'd love to hear from you if you need any support. Please be in touch :)
