About Cody
As a trumpet tutor, my greatest satisfaction comes from helping students develop confidence, discipline, and a genuine passion for music through personalised instruction and continuous encouragement. I believe that every student has the potential to become an accomplished musician when given the right guidance, a structured learning plan, and an environment where they feel supported and motivated.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and adaptable, allowing each lesson to be tailored to the student's age, experience, learning style, and musical aspirations. Whether you are a complete beginner learning your first notes, a school band student, an intermediate player refining your technique, or an advanced musician preparing for auditions, examinations, competitions, or professional performances, I create lessons that match your goals while maintaining steady and measurable progress.
Students develop strong technical foundations through breathing exercises, embouchure development, posture, articulation, tone production, rhythm training, note reading, scales, finger coordination, and music theory. As their skills improve, we explore flexibility exercises, endurance building, range development, dynamics, phrasing, sight reading, ear training, orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo performance, ensemble playing, advanced articulation, and performance techniques.
Beyond teaching the mechanics of playing the trumpet, I encourage creativity, musical interpretation, independent learning, and effective practice habits that help students continue improving outside the classroom. My lessons are designed to inspire confidence, celebrate progress, and make learning enjoyable while helping every student become a skilled and expressive musician.

Learning the trumpet should be an exciting and rewarding experience, and my lessons are designed to inspire students while helping them achieve their musical goals. Every class combines technical instruction with practical performance experience to ensure balanced musical development.
Students learn breathing techniques, embouchure formation, articulation, rhythm, scales, note reading, tone production, finger coordination, and expressive playing before progressing to advanced techniques such as flexibility training, endurance, range development, phrasing, orchestral excerpts, jazz improvisation, solo performance, and ensemble skills.
Lessons also include music theory, listening exercises, ear training, and customised practice routines that encourage confidence and steady progress.
