About Mary
As a violin tutor with 12 years of experience, I have successfully taught around 300 students from different age groups, including high school students, college learners, and adults. My teaching approach is based on flexibility, patience, and encouragement, as I believe every student learns in their own way.
I focus on strong fundamentals such as posture, bow control, finger placement, and tone production, while also encouraging students to enjoy music and express themselves. I design lessons based on each student’s level and goals, ensuring steady and clear progress.
One of my key achievements is helping students overcome challenges and build confidence in their playing. My goal is to make learning violin both enjoyable and effective.

I teach violin with a focus on communication, personalised guidance, and hands-on learning. I assess each student’s strengths, learning style, and goals to adapt lessons that maximise understanding and enjoyment.
I teach essential techniques such as posture, bowing, fingering, intonation, tone production, phrasing, and expressive playing while encouraging creativity and interpretation. I use real-life examples such as performing songs, practising for recitals, and exploring music’s emotional and storytelling aspects to make lessons meaningful.
In addition to violin, I include music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to provide a complete musical foundation. My goal is to create a structured, motivating, and enjoyable learning environment where students build confidence, skill, and a lifelong passion for music.
