About Eugene

My values are transparency, respect, curiosity, creativity and active listening. I grew up with 3 younger siblings and coached all of them. I practised tennis professionally and played ITF tournaments. I used to be the first player in the tennis team of City, University of London. I trained at the Biel (Switzerland) Tennis Academy, where young Roger Federer practised and want to share my experience with you.

I speak English and Russian fluently and can communicate in German.

I am excited about both coaching and being a hitting partner!

Find out more about Eugene

  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I began when I was about 5 or 6 years old. My father is a very competitive person who has always emphasised the importance of sports, so I began practising at a young age. My family was forced to relocate from Kyrgyzstan to Moscow when I was nine years old, and I enrolled in one of Russia's top tennis academies.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

Snowboarding: I began skiing when I was 3 years old and switched to snowboarding when I was 7 years old. I can do some tricks like a 360 and some jibbing and am quite skilled at it. I love water sports as well (wakeboarding, kitesurfing). Since I believe it to be significantly adrenaline-boosting, I would love to try downhill biking.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

I think it boosts my adrenaline and mental toughness, especially when I play in competitions.
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

In 2019, I won the amateur tournament Sakhalin Island Cup.

  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

I became quite well-known among Sakhalin players, which provided me with numerous networking opportunities.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

I'd pick Daniil Medvedev and ask him why he refused to wish my girlfriend a happy birthday despite the fact that we knew each other before he became world number one and practised at the same academy.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I believe that staying motivated is key when it comes to achieving success in tennis. The best way to help people stay motivated is by providing them with positive reinforcement and encouragement. I like to focus on their strengths and successes and to remind them that hard work and dedication will pay off in the end. I also like to set short-term goals with them to keep them on track and to give them something to strive for. Additionally, I like to create a fun and supportive atmosphere where they can practice with others and learn from each other.
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

My unique combination of physical and mental strength makes me a Superprof in sports. I have a tremendous amount of endurance and can play for extended periods of time without tiring. I also have a mental strength that allows me to stay focused and determined, no matter the challenge. Together, these traits make me a Superprof in sports and enable me to reach my goals and excel in any sport I choose.
