About Emelyne
Hello, I'm Emelyne!
A deeply passionate harpist dedicated to bring over two decades of professional and international experience as a musician to our classroom.
For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of sharing my love for music and the world of the harp with students like yourself. I have had the chance of performing in various countries, including France, Spain, Taiwan, China, and the United States, which has enriched my understanding of diverse musical traditions and styles.
I hold a Master's degree from the Mannes School of Music in New York City. This educational journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of music theory, performance techniques, and pedagogical approaches, which I am eager to impart to you during our time together.
I believe that learning music should be an inspiring and fulfilling experience. My goal is not only to help you develop your harp skills but also to instill in you a profound appreciation for the beauty and power of music. I love classical music but I also have a lot of fun adapting my friend's favorite songs to the harp and play them for all of them!
I am committed to creating a nurturing and professional learning environment where you can thrive and reach your fullest potential. Throughout our time together, I will draw upon my years of experience, both as a performer and educator, to guide you on your musical journey. What will be taught?
In our harp classes, students will receive a comprehensive introduction to the world of harp music. They will be taught the fundamental techniques of harp playing, including proper hand positioning, finger coordination, and basic music theory. As they progress, they'll explore a repertoire of level-appropriate songs, fostering a strong foundation for future musical endeavors.

- Hand and finger technique: Developing dexterity and precision.
- Reading music: Introduction to sheet music and musical notation.
- Playing melodies: Learning simple tunes to build confidence.

How is my class structured?
Each session is thoughtfully structured to balance instruction and hands-on practice. Classes typically run for 60 minutes and consist of warm-up exercises, guided instruction, practice time, and a recap of key takeaways. I provide a nurturing and supportive environment where students can learn at their own pace.
How will I teach?
My teaching approach combines traditional instruction with engaging activities. I use a variety of teaching materials, including sheet music, educational games, and interactive exercises, to make learning the harp enjoyable and accessible for all type of learners.
What's my teaching style?
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to the unique needs of each student. I believe in creating a positive and motivating atmosphere where students feel confident to ask questions, explore, and express themselves through music.
How much will learners get to interact with me?
Interaction is a vital part of my classes. Students will have the opportunity to:
- Receive direct instruction during the lessons.
- Participate in hands-on practice.
- Engage in discussions about music theory and harp history.

Any required experience or knowledge learners need?
No prior experience or musical knowledge is required for my harp lessons. These classes are designed for beginners as well as for more advanced harpists, and I welcome students with a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. All I ask is for a willingness to learn and a passion for music. Students will start from the basics and progress at their own pace, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience.
