About Sophie
I am a First Class Honours Graduate in International Relations (BA). I have also previously excelled in English Literature, with both A* qualifications in the subject at GCSE and A Level. I have experience in tutoring GCSE students for their English Literature exams. All my students have gone on to achieve their predicted grades or above. I am experienced in working with both less able students as well as providing more challenging lessons to students with a greater aptitude for English Literature.

I am more than happy to prove tutoring to students aged 11-16, as this is where I have previous experience in exam tuition in English Literature. However, I am also open to tutoring A Level (Key Stage 5) English Literature students, in preparation for their exams.
My teaching methodology has always been somewhat informal, preferring to get to know the student and their needs before committing to a particular style of teaching. This is because I do not believe there is a uniform approach to learning, and each student will learn in their own, individual way. Getting to know the students capabilities first- their strengths and weaknesses in the subject- allows me to tailor each lesson to the specific student, maximising the benefits of each lesson for the student.
