About Karoline
I work in Public Relations, mainly functioning as a ghostwriter. In college, I tutored students from the undergraduate to the doctoral level, including international, traditional and special needs students for three years, attaining International Tutor Certification through the College Reading and Learning Association in the process. I love to write, and I love helping people improve their writing skills. I am patient, positive and encouraging. My desire is to help you practically succeed and believe in yourself.

I am a collaborative tutor who works alongside my students during the learning process, helping them to think critically about their writing instead of fixing their mistakes for them. Through this method, I have helped numerous students become better, more independent writers who achieved their goals, including being admitted to law school, medical school and graduating from university with honors. My goal is to equip each student with the tools they need to become good writers on their own so that they one day do not need a tutor's supervision.
My students can expect lessons with me to be conversational, collaborative and challenging. I work best with students who understand that writing is a critical life skill that they are seeking to hone, which goes beyond trying to secure an A grade on a paper, although I will help my students to achieve those measurable outcomes as well. I can work with any student who meets this criteria, although I am especially skilled at partnering with international students or ELL students.
I treat every student as an individual, which means I am empathetic, understanding and patient. Language or learning barriers are not viewed as obstacles but opportunities. I ensure that every student walks away from a session feeling more confident and empowered in their abilities.

Karoline and I worked together as writing tutors while we were in college. She has the rare ability to connect with people of all skill levels, backgrounds, and personalities. Her confidence, kindness, and fun spirit encourage students to step out of their writing comfort zones. I never saw a student leave a session with Karoline without having learned something new...and they always seemed to have fun while they did it!
Karoline is an excellent writing instructor. I had several one-on-one sessions with her during my undergrad and she was always patient and efficient. Karoline taught me most of what I know about writing and editing college level papers; I started my undergrad as an ESL (English as a second language) student, and her help with my writing assignments helped graduate Cum Laude with my Bachelors degree. Additionally, Karoline also helped me write my personal statement to medical school, which was indispensable for my acceptance into the program. Strongly recommend! Great teacher!
