About Alice
As a creative and enthusiastic piano teacher, I bring my passion for music into every lesson. Hailing from Dorset, I grew up playing in many ensembles, singing in Wimborne Minster Choir, and completing all my piano ABRSM grades by the time I was 17. My interest in music led me to study Music at the University of Nottingham. I first taught piano during the final year of my Music degree, and really loved it.
After gaining a Creating Writing MA from Lancaster University (a slight twist in the tale), I moved to West Sussex, where I taught piano, worked as an editorial assistant, and played piano at my friend's wedding. I have now moved back to Dorset to teach piano here!

During the 5-week 'An Introduction to Piano' course, you will have the opportunity to delve into the world of piano with 5 x 1-hour lessons led by a music graduate with a Grade 8 distinction on piano.
Your experienced instructor, versatile in adapting to different learning styles, will provide you with personalised guidance and support to help you master the fundamentals. To ensure continued progress between lessons, you will also receive basic assignments and helpful practice materials.
Additionally, learners will set a SMART goal tailored to their individual needs and interests, such as learning their favourite piece of piano music, or giving a performance to family/friends, to be achieved by the end of the course.
Upon course completion, you will receive a complementary certificate, as well as a 'Going Forward' review, suggesting next steps, areas for improvement, and highlighting what went well. From there, learners wishing to continue with beginner lessons (below grade 1 standard) can do so with the same rate/package as the 'An Introduction to Piano' course, with a 'Going Forward' review every 5 lessons.
One of the challenges of learning piano is committing to learning and practice. Arranging lessons in a package course as opposed to individually aims to confront this challenge and demonstrate how concentrated playing and learning pays off, with the opportunity for learners to reflect after 5 lessons.
Learners of all ages are welcome—this course works well as a 'taster' course for those who think they may be interested in learning the piano. It's also great for those wishing to brush up on the basics.

Perfect! Alice is calm, patient and excellent with the children.
She goes out of her way to accommodate the clients requests. And would highly recommend her!Perfect! Alice was an amazing teacher. She engaged with children really well. She was patient, kind and gave the children the right comments to improve. Soon after she started teaching one of my daughters, they successfully passed their grade 1 exam. Unfortunately she has to move from Nottingham. I wish her successful career in her future.
- Really good, she was very friendly and organised.Alice's response :
