About Martin

I'm an Italian-Argentine literature scholar, translator, and writer based in Spain, currently visiting Brighton as a researcher.

I have a PhD in American literature and several years of university teaching experience. I speak Spanish, English, and Galician, and my work as a researcher and translator has taken me to universities and cultural institutions in Europe and the United States.

I'm passionate about literature, cinema, music, and meeting people from different backgrounds. I'll be in Brighton for a limited time, and I'd love to help people improve their Spanish while getting to know the city!

About the lesson

I believe languages are best learnt through use rather than theory alone. When you learn a new word or expression and immediately put it into practice in a real conversation, you're much more likely to remember it.

That's why my lessons are relaxed, informal conversations designed to help you gain confidence and fluency in Spanish. No textbooks, no rigid structure: just good conversation, with corrections and explanations whenever you need them.

Literature, movies, music, travel, politics, religion... even sports, if we absolutely must!

We can meet at a café, go for a stroll, or even visit a museum. The idea is to practise Spanish while doing something enjoyable!
