During the first free lesson I assess the knowledge level of the student and I then work with them to understand which areas they'd like to improve. I strongly believe the key factors to learn a language are:
- writing: being able to translate your native language into the foreign one. For this reason, I give my students complex sentences in English to be translated into Italian.
- listening: watching films in Italian with Italian subtitles, not English subtitles. I have a range of good Italian films to provide to my students.
- speaking: spending time to talk in Italian. I talk to my students as much as possible: I try to do the whole lesson in Italian, rather than English.
- reading: reading Italian novel helps a lot to widen your vocabulary.
I am an Italian graduate in Computer Science Engineering and I moved to London in 2016 to pursue a career in Film & TV drama production. I have been tutoring my fellow classmates for over 10 years allowing them to pass their exams when they were in difficulty. I have a particularly good grasp on Italian grammar because my mother is a teacher of Italian language and I've always helped her correcting her students' tests.
