About Alan
I have been teaching Italian in college to adults for some time, and teach individuals in one-to-one sessions. My classes for adults at college are enjoyable so nearly everyone stays, and passes the end-of-year tests. At the end of a year, they can order in a restaurant, book a hotel and go shopping with confidence.

People want to be able to communicate, so emphasis is on having a conversation, and being able to ask for things and understand the answers. We use a easy-to-use book, and cover some grammar, but only what is needed to be able to manage in simple Italian. I lived for 17 years in Italy, so I can also talk about cultural differences, and give advice about travelling, staying and living in Italy.
