About Hooreen
Preparing for the UCAT can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re not sure which strategies actually work.
I’m currently studying BSc Medical Science and have sat the UCAT myself, so I understand both the pressure of the exam and how to approach it effectively. Through my experience, I’ve developed a strong understanding of the techniques needed to succeed.
My lessons focus on strategy-based learning rather than just going through questions. I teach students how to manage time under pressure, recognise patterns quickly (especially in Abstract Reasoning), and use smart techniques to maximise their score.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, helping you improve not just your accuracy, but also your speed and confidence across all UCAT sections.

1. Quick Check-In (5–10 mins)
Start every lesson by understanding the student’s current state.
Ask:
• What did you revise since last time?
• Which section felt hardest?
• Any timing issues?
This makes your lesson feel personalised, not generic.

2. Timed Mini Test (10–15 mins)
Give them:
• A short, timed set (e.g. 10–15 questions)
• Focus on ONE section only (VR, AR, QR, DM, or SJT)
Why this matters:
• Builds exam pressure
• Shows real weaknesses instantly
• Keeps lessons active (not passive)

3. Deep Review + Strategy Teaching (20–25 mins) (MOST IMPORTANT)
This is where you add value.
Don’t just explain answers — teach:
• Why they got it wrong
• What pattern they missed
• How to avoid it next time
Examples:
• VR → keyword scanning, skipping long passages
• AR → pattern recognition shortcuts
• QR → estimation instead of full calculation
This is what students are actually paying for.
