- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I specialise in teaching the trumpet and cornet but can teach all brass instruments.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BMus(Hons) degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where I studied classical trumpet with many of the top trumpet players and teachers in the country.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £20-25 per hour and £10-15 per half hour depending on travelling.
- Where do you teach?
I am happy to teach from home or to travel. I can teach in Southampton and other areas in the Hampshire area depending on the circumstances which we can talk about.
- When are you available?
I am very flexible and willing to teach times that suits the pupil. General times I can teach are from 9am-7pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. 9-5pm Wednesday & Friday. Weekends can be arranged depending on availability.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages and levels. As a trumpet player i feel more comfortable with teaching upper brass from beginner to grade 8+ and lower brass up to grade 5 standard.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
We can discuss exam options. one of which i use is ABRSM
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have performed a variety of styles of music with many different types of ensembles. These performances have taken place at festivals, on t.v/radio and in the biggest concert venues around. I have been teaching since 2010, I teach privately and in schools across southampton. I have taken workshops and performed master classes and currently am the musical director of the Showcase Young Players Orchestra and musical assistant with the Hamble Area Youth Band.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have a current CRB.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at Trinity College of Music in London. Some of my teachers were: Brian Thomson, Andy Hendrie, Robert Farley, Paul Mayes & Steve Waterman.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a member of the Musicians Union.
