About Ryota
Hello, I am a qualified Japanese language teacher from Nagoya, Japan.
After worked as a Japanese teacher in Bangkok, I moved to London and completed MA linguistics at UCL.
My strength is being able to teach Japanese only in Japanese even to a beginner-level student and to correct your pronunciation in an effective way by using knowledge of Phonetics which I acquired in the MA.
In Thailand, I taught students in the direct method, which is lessons are all conducted only in Japanese. Even though the direct method is uncommon in the UK, I personally believe it is more effective in terms of acquisition. Thus, I prefer to teach in Japanese only, however, I am happy to provide explanation in English upon necessity.
The acquisition of foreign language pronunciation can be very challenging. The foreign language often has a sound which your native language doesn't have.
Unless you can hear difference, you can never pronounce correctly. I will help you to hear the difference by using visual aide, etc.
