About Stefano
I’m a senior software developer, technical lead and software architect with over 25 years of commercial experience, specialising in Java and enterprise software development.
During my career I’ve worked as a developer, senior developer, technical lead and architect, designing and building real-world software systems and helping other developers develop their skills.
I’m a Sun Certified Java Programmer and Developer and have extensive experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, databases, testing, software design and architecture.
I enjoy taking complicated technical subjects and making them understandable. I particularly enjoy those moments when something that has been confusing suddenly clicks.
I want my lessons to be friendly and informal. You don't need to worry about what you already know or don't know - just bring what you'd like help with and we'll work through it together.

My lessons are tailored around what you want to learn and achieve. Whether you're completely new to Java, studying a particular topic, struggling with something at work, building a project, preparing for an interview, or simply want an experienced developer to work through problems with you, we can focus the lessons around your needs.
I have over 25 years of commercial software development experience and can help with anything from core Java and object-oriented programming through to Spring Boot, REST APIs, databases, testing, application design and professional development practices.
I believe the best way to learn programming is by doing. We can write code together, look at your own code or projects, debug problems, explore different approaches, or start something new.
There is no fixed syllabus you have to follow. Tell me what you'd like to get out of the lessons and we'll take it from there, at a pace that works for you.
Lessons are normally one hour and are suitable for beginners, students and professional developers.
