About Benjamin
I am a 24-year-old student with a degree in Jazz Performance majoring in guitar from the University of Auckland. I have played the instrument for over 15 years and have experience with live performance, recording, and composition. I listen to a wide range of guitarists from Wes Montgomery to Derek Trucks to Jimi Hendrix. I also play and enjoy a variety of genres - pop, rock, indie, jazz, folk etc.

With over 15 years of guitar playing experience, I know that the key to improving is finding methods of practice that work for the individual! I alter my lessons around the learning aims of the student, suggesting helpful approaches wherever I can. My lessons can cover chord form, picking and strumming techniques, playing popular songs, soloing, and music theory. I have experience teaching students and adapting to individual learning styles. As a graduate of the University of Auckland jazz school, I am open to teaching beginner and intermediate players looking to learn, improve and enjoy their playing!
