About Sherise
Hi! I am Sherise and I offer online and in-person lessons for all ages and levels (N1-N5). Whether you want to prepare for JLPT, improve your speaking skills, or simply enjoy learning Japanese, I am here to help! I offer personalised one-to-one lessons tailored to your goals, interests, and learning style. Together, we will build your confidence in Japanese grammar, vocabulary, and communication in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
I first started studying Japanese as a hobby because I love anime and Pokémon. Over time, however, my interest in Japanese grew, and I became more serious about learning the language and understanding how it works.
I have taken and passed the JLPT N1, N2, and N3, achieving high scores in each. Through my own experience as a Japanese learner, I understand both the challenges and rewards of learning the language. I hope to share what I have learned and use my experience to support you in reaching your own Japanese-learning goals.
As I am a big fan of anime and Pokémon, and a vocalist in an anime band, I'd be happy to incorporate these interests into lessons for students who are also into them. Book a lesson and let's start learning Japanese together!

I usually begin each lesson with a short speaking activity to review content from previous lessons. We then move on to grammar and vocabulary, followed by exercises and activities to help you understand and use what you have learnt.
For homework, I assign textbook exercises along with a short writing task, giving you a chance to practise independently between lessons.
This is my typical lesson structure, but we can always work together to tailor lessons to your goals and interests. Whether you want to focus on JLPT preparation, conversation, or other skills, we can adapt the lessons to suit you.
I am also a big fan of anime and Pokémon and I sing anime songs in a band, so if you share these interests, I can incorporate them into our lessons to make Japanese more engaging and fun!
