Joanna is a colleague of mine, I know her as both an artist and teacher. She is a keen listener and is able to deeply engage with students' learning interests. Her knowledge and experience in the subject is paired with genuine empathy for others, she sees the individual in a holistic way to support their progress. Highly recommend!
I have known Joanna since 2006 when I trained her to become a secondary art and design teacher. Since then, I was Jo's dissertation supervisor during her MA artist teacher studies. Under my supervision, Jo has also taught an undergraduate programme focusing on arts and cultural learning and been a research assistant examining the implications of the MA programme on teachers' professional development. Jo is a brilliant art teacher. She has enormous practical and theoretical expertise, fantastic subject knowledge, and a wealth of teaching experience. Jo maintains her own art practice and is an extremely skilled artist. I recommend her without hesitation.
